Abstract
Joining of dissimilar materials poses some unique and interesting challenges in all manufacturing industries, especially for consumer electronics and medical device industries. Some of the considerations for material selection will be discussed, such as balancing of cost, formability, mechanical properties, electrical properties, and visual appearance. Several case studies will be presented, as well as an overview of microjoining capabilities at EWI.
