  • Rapid solidification and non-equilibrium micro-structural evolution in dissimilar materials joining and additive manufacturing
  • Computational materials modeling of weld metal and heat affected zone micro-structures

Approach to diversity and inclusion

"As the first female faculty member hired in the Welding Engineering program at Ohio State, it is near and dear to my heart to encourage a more diverse group of students into our field. I am doing this by participating in outreach activities with different audiences, but more importantly by serving as a role model at our lab on a daily basis."

What you might not know about Professor Fink

"I came to Ohio State after earning a five-year Ph.D. in Germany. I wanted a change of scenery and new challenges. I love to travel and expose myself to different cultures, languages, and vegetarian food."
