Patrick Boster

Patrick is a technical expert in materials, welding, and NDE focused in the design and manufacture of riser and subsea equipment. His early career included a number of technology developments to meet industry demand for new materials and welding-engineering technology, which enabled innovative engineering design concepts to perform in the severe environments encountered in deepwater exploration and production.

After 18 years with ABB Vetco Gray, Patrick’s career path diversified as he became President of Weld-Tech Engineering (acquired by RTI Energy Systems), a company he co-founded and led for the next 16 years. His company quickly grew into a well-respected specialized engineering and fabrication entity, and was involved in numerous, high-profile major projects in top-tensioned risers and subsea manifolds. Of particular note was their leading role in the adaptive retrofit and supply of two riser systems for the Macondo project. Concurrent with his leadership role, Patrick completed a number of engineering initiatives as well as expanded his role in industry educational with ASME and numerous SME technical presentations.

He is also a registered Professional Engineer in Texas.
