WE-MSE team wins first place in TMS poster contest for materials characterization

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering congratulates the four-person team for claiming first place in the 2022 EPD Materials Characterization Best Poster Award from the TMS-EPD Materials Characterization Committee.

Professor Carolin Fink, Professor Emeritus John Lippold, MSE doctoral student Cheng-Han Li, and former professor Joerg Jinschek presented their poster, “S/TEM Characterization of Interdendritic Phases in Ni-30Cr Weld Metal 52XL” during the symposia on characterization of minerals, metals and materials at the 2021 TMS Annual Meeting.

Cheng-Han Li accepted the award on behalf of the team at the Materials Characterization Committee meeting on February 10, 2022.

Joerg Jinschek is currently a professor with Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
