Engineering online grad degrees rank in nation's top 20

The Ohio State University College of Engineering is ranked 19th in U.S. News & World Report’s new nationwide assessment of online graduate programs, up six spots from last year.

The College of Engineering offers three online degrees: a Master of Science in Welding Engineering from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, a Master of Global Engineering Leadership, and the new Master of Engineering Management program (begins Autumn 2020).

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering began teaching online courses during the 1998-99 academic year. Launched in 2003, Ohio State's online welding engineering master’s program has a long history of supplying top-notch talent to the worldwide manufacturing community..

A professional degree for practicing engineers who want to enhance their management acumen, leadership skills and technical expertise to succeed in business, the Master of Global Engineering Leadership was launched in 2014. The online degree can be completed in 16 to 28 months.

Additionally, The Ohio State University's online bachelor's programs rank No. 1 for 2020, and the online Master of Science in Nursing program is ranked No. 4 nationally and No. 2 among public universities, with three of the program's specialties also placing among the top four.

U.S. News ranked schools based on five general categories: student engagement; faculty credentials and training; student services and technology; expert opinion; and student excellence.
