Exploring automated technologies for any welding operation.
The skilled labor shortage is having a profound effect on production at the shop level, and welding operations are looking at automated welding solutions to improve both productivity and quality. Because the landscape of the automated welding industry is changing rapidly, many do not know how to start, and others using automated welding for years may need help moving their operations to the next level.
Conference participants will gain a better understanding of what is required to successfully design, install and run automated welding systems, including hard automation, traditional robots and COBOTS. Attendees will be awarded 1 PDH (Professional Development Hour) for each hour of the conference.
This 2.5-day event event is packed full with workshops, presentations and panel discussions from industry pioneers from Matheson, FANUC, Vectis and more talking about what is required to successfully design, install and run automated welding systems, including hard automation, traditional robots and COBOTS.
The keynote speaker will be AWS Interim CEO and Executing Director Robert Roth.
Conference benefits
Leading-edge topics and technologies include:
- Lessons learned for welding automation in the energy, defense, and automotive industries, as well as job shop and contract manufacturing
- Traditional and collaborative robotic arc welding
- Automated weld inspection
- Additive and advanced manufacturing research
Automation Plant Tours:
- Thursday, October 12 - EWI and Mettler Toledo are opening their plants to conference participants for facility tours. The EWI tour will include a visit to The Ohio State University Welding Engineering Labs to view their robotic laser system.
This conference is organized by AWS.
