Abstract

Academic integrity is a core value of the Graduate School and The Ohio State University, and as such, all graduate students are expected to uphold honesty in all academic and professional pursuits. This presentation will review the concepts of academic integrity and misconduct, provide guidance on citing sources so as to avoid plagiarism, discuss how misconduct cases are handled at Ohio State, and examine instructive case scenarios. 

Bio

Dr. Jay Hobgood: Dr. Hobgood is Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, with research interests focusing on meteorology, tropical cyclones, and intensification. He is the current coordinator for the Committee on Academic Misconduct.

Caroline Omolesky: Caroline is the Program Officer for Sponsored Programs & Academic Liaison at the Office of International Affairs (International Students and Scholars unit). As academic liaison, she works closely with international students charged with academic misconduct.
