What is Academic Integrity all about?  Why is it important to graduate students and teaching assistants?  How do I avoid academic misconduct or report tough cases when they arise?

In this workshop, the Graduate School, the Committee on Academic Misconduct (COAM), and the Office of International Affairs will together host a session on academic integrity to explain the relevant statistics and terminologies, examine examples of real misconduct cases, and provide guidance on citing sources correctly, so as to avoid plagiarism. These practical strategies will help students understand how to uphold integrity, and put them on the path to academic success at The Ohio State University.

Speakers:

  • Ann Salimbene, Assistant Dean, the Graduate School
  • Caroline Omolesky, Program Officer for Sponsored Programs and Academic Liaison, Office of International Affairs
  • Jay Hobgood, Coordinator, Committee of Academic Misconduct & Associate Professor in the Department of Geography
