Electrically assisted friction stir welding ManufacturingX Lab

To improve conventional manufacturing, one group of solution relies on the utilization of hybrid energy. An example is electrically assisted Friction Stir Welding (FSW) and our developed experimental system is shown in the following figure. During FSW, the electrical current is applied simultaneously, which reduces welding force, increases welding speed and is also beneficial for joining dissimilar materials.
