Buckeye Engineering Cover Story: New Biomedical and Materials Engineering Complex

Posted:

Demolition has nearly ended and the hollowed space in the heart of campus will soon house a state-of-the-art facility that will revolutionize the field of biomaterials. The 124,000 square foot landmark and all its glorious glass is going to be the new home for Ohio State's Biomedical Engineering Academic Program.

As the flurries fall on our Columbus campus, construction progresses amid the rush of students who are in transit to their classes at the start of spring semester. Sidewalks along the main artery of academic buildings are temporarily closed by fencing that borders the activity where the Biomedical and Materials Engineering Complex (BMEC) will soon stand.

While the crew on 19th Avenue constructs the five-story showpiece, the College of Engineering will continue to provide updates on the progress and plans. The latest issue of Buckeye Engineering features BMEC. Printed versions are arriving in mailboxes across the country, and Ohio State's Department of Materials and Science Engineering and Welding Engineering want to share the coverage as well.
