NANOMESO Activities:
Experimental Validation (EV)
Robert Maaß joined the group of Prof. Helena Van Swygenhoven in October 2005 as a Ph.D. Candidate. Prior to this, he studied materials science and engineering from 2000 to 2005 at Lulea University of Technology (Sweden), Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine (France) and Saarland University (Germany) and received an engineering/master degree from each of them. Hi previous work includes properties of hard magnetic thin films at the Leibniz Institut for Solide State Research and combustion chamber materials for rocket boosters at Ariane Space. His experimental work in the NANOMESO effort focuses on deformation mechanisms of micron pillars via in-situ Laue micro-diffraction at the Swiss Light Source (SLS) at the Paul Scherrer Institut.
