Peter Derlet is a staff physicist at the Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland. He received his Ph.D. in theoretical partical physics from Monash University, Australia in 1995. Since then, he has undertaken post-doctoral research in Australia and Norway in the fields of condensed matter and materials science, with an emphasis on materials modeling. His current research interests primarily lie in the investigation of the structural and mechanical properties of nanocrystalline structures using atomistic simulation methods.
