Erik Bitzek joined the Materials Science and Simulation Group at Paul Scherrer Institute (Switzerland) in September 2006. He studied physics at University of Stuttgart (Germany) and received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from University of Karlsruhe (Germany) in 2006. His focus in NANOMESO is to investigate the influence of grain boundary topology on the deformation behaviour of nanocrystalline metals using atomistic simulation methods.
